One of the Marine Corps F-16 Aggressors from the Naval Strike and Air Warfare Center at Fallon, or NSAWC (pronounced en-sock) Doesn't have the ring that "Top Gun" had, does it?

Stunning stunning stunning. Pity the mystery blue pod is blue ... kinda messes with the color scheme ;-)

I believe we determined that the blue pod is a transmitter, meant to disguise the aircraft with enemy electromagnetic signatures. But I could be mistaken.

I haven't got a clue about the blue pod, but now I'm interested. This may start to bug me haha. But anyway, perfect shot. Like something Id expect to see on a recruiting poster.

It is an NSAWC Viper from Fallon. There is a telemetry pod on the starboard wing, but I believe the blue pod under the port wing probably some kind of radar simulator. The viper is simulating some different kind of aircraft and the pod sends out signals to that effect.
There's is answer. Must be a radar simulator.

That's a dummy Sidewinder on the right wing tip, an AIS (Airborne Instrumentation Subsystem) pod on the left wing tip, Fuel tank on centerline, And as soon as I find out what that blue bastard is on the left wing, You'll be the first to know. I'm stumped.

I am too, and naming weapons, and even I'm stumped. I might send this picture to my dad, who was in the Navy.
