Artist's Comments

The Thunderbirds had a challenging weekend. More on that in my upcoming journal. But they still looked great!

Also, sorry about the watermark. I definitely don't like doing it, but I found my work being used in an online advertisement for a czech website, so I'm going to have to crackdown. From now on and for all past shots, I'm going to have to put the watermark on the shots.

As you attend more and more airshows, you'll learn where to go to get the best shots. The thing that's going to get your shots to stand apart from everyone else isn't what equipment you're using.... it's location. Go someplace that seems like it's going to get you nice and close to the action. If there's a bunch of people there with cameras, it's probably a good place to shoot. Usually far show right or left. In my case, I just went further to the right than everyone else.(ie, the parking lot) and realized I was the only person out there (well, for a while at least!) Show center is great or viewing, but if you want to shoot, get yourself as close as possible.
Maybe I should do an article on airshow photography.
